Islander Guarantee

Our guarantee for funding your education

The Islander Guarantee is a financial support program at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi that guarantees payment for full tuition and mandatory fees for undergraduate students from lower-income families. As long as the student remains eligible, the Islander Guarantee program will pay these costs for up to eight regular semesters.

The program encourages students to take more courses during the year and complete degree programs within a four-year period. This financial incentive helps close the financial gap for many lower-income students who would otherwise be unable to afford to attend A&M-Corpus Christi.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the Islander Guarantee, you must:

  • Be a United States citizen and a Texas resident.
  • Be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student working toward a degree or certificate in an eligible program.
  • Be a dependent or independent undergraduate from a family that has a household income of $30,000 or less.
  • Meet the University's admission requirements and gain admission.
  • Be Pell Grant eligible.
  • Complete a full-time course load of at least 15 hours a semester in fall and spring and maintain a cumulative 2.5 grade point average.

How to apply
Students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility by March 31. Aside from submitting the FAFSA, no additional application is required. Students who submit all required admission and financial assistance documents by March 31 will be considered based on the criteria noted above. Those students who submit all required documentation by the posted deadline and who meet all necessary criteria will be awarded.
